How I built my new website in 2 weeks with GatsbyJS & Sanity

I wanted a portfolio website that felt personal, simple and easy to update. Since I’m a designer and not a developer, I focused on the visual direction, content and overall experience, while my husband helped me bring everything to life.

Starting with the design

I first designed the pages, layouts and visual system in Figma. The goal was to create a clean portfolio where the work could speak for itself, with enough flexibility to add new projects and stories over time.

Building the website

My husband developed the website using GatsbyJS. Together, we translated the Figma designs into a responsive website that works across desktop and mobile.

Because we worked closely from the beginning, it was easier to keep the final result close to the original design.

Managing content with Sanity

We used Sanity as the content management system, which allows me to update projects, images and blog posts without touching any code.

This was especially important for me because I wanted to manage the website independently after launch.

Two weeks from idea to launch

The full website was designed and built in around two weeks.

It was a fast and collaborative process: I handled the design and content, and my husband supported me with the development and technical setup.
